HISTORIC DONNELLY HOUSE OFFICIALLY OPENS Kathy G. & Company as Exclusive Caterer
Published Tuesday, October 4, 2011 6:00 am

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Two of Birmingham’s most iconic in the hospitality industry, Kathy G. & Company and The Historic Donnelly House have partnered once again to offer event space for social and corporate events, and weddings at a premier address in the Highland Avenue Historic District.

The Donnelly House was originally primary residence of Mr. James W. Donnelly, a civic leader, philanthropist and retiree from Proctor & Gamble. He built the colonial mansion over 100 years ago and it was added to Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1975. Though the principal use of the 12,000 square foot home has changed through the years, once as the Birmingham Civic Ballet and then as an open venue for events, some things remain the same, namely, the original owner’s white marble floors.

New owner, Carl Schoettlin has fully renovated the historic home but focused on bringing out the original architecture and splendor of the establishment. The open floor plan will allow guests who rent the space to dictate the flow of each event. Kathy G. & Company, a household name in catering, events and design will be on hand as the exclusive caterer to execute the client’s desires.

Kathy G. & Company and owner, Schoettlin strive to attract an upscale clientele. Kathy G. will offer menus exclusive to the Donnelly House at price points to accommodate most budgets. Kathy G.’s culinary experience dates back 25 years and has been awarded by the most prestigious industry associations. Kathy Mezrano, the company’s CEO, has become synonymous with the best of social affairs, weddings and corporate events in the region.

The Donnelly House will offer Kathy G. as exclusive caterer and provide a list of preferred vendors for clients to choose from such as florals, photography, confections, entertainment and lighting. Valet service will be provided for parking. Rental rates begin at $1500. The venue offers indoor and outdoor space and accommodates events up to 250 guests.

The Historic Donnelly House officially opens, Tuesday, September 13, 2011. For more information or to schedule an interview with Carl or Kathy, please contact, Kerri Kelley at 205.218.4674 or email at kerri@kathyg.com.
