| Signature Style Series - Floral Paradise | | Published Thursday, January 6, 2011 6:00 am |

The beauty of an orchid, or the texture and allure of paper. Touches
such as these suggest an Asian flair, one that Kimberly Nelson of
Kimberly Nelson Floral Designs wished to incorporate into this year’s
Signature Style Series collection. This refined concept lends itself to
a bold color palette, and for it, Kimberly selected shades of fuchsia,
lime and gold. The bridal bouquet is a celebratory mix of pink peonies
and hot pink Japanese asters, wrapped in a sisal bouquet collar accented
with hanging jewels and orchids.
An outdoor garden ceremony site offers the perfect place for a
springtime wedding. At the head of the ceremony site, two arrangements
in metal stands mark the aisle. The arrangements include several bunches
of Solidago for a lush look and strong impact of color, with hanging
gloriosa lilies on accent wire. For aisle markers, bamboo stakes with
hot pink parasol, accented with Shocking Oriental lilies. A rose petal
spiral pattern leads the eye down the center aisle to the nuptial site,
where three black metal trellises stand with gloriosa lilies attached.
Yellow market umbrellas provide shade over chiavari chairs set out for
guests.
The bride, portrayed by Katharine Webb, wears two delicate orchids
touched with pink to accent her hair. Flowers provided by Kimberly
Nelson Floral Designs.

Décor at the bridal luncheon is a preview of what is to come. Hot pink
linen, provided by BBJ Linen, is used to cover guest tables. Miniature
white and green hydrangea, hot pink Japanese asters, and yellow Fuji
mums are arranged in ceramic yellow vases as statement centerpieces.
Stationery provided by Annabelle’s includes invitations with subtle
floral orchid pattern, done in lemongrass green on ivory stock. Hot pink
and black font adds elegance to this botanical theme.
Bridesmaids, portrayed by Brittany Benton, Carla Baumann Rheuby, and
Shelby Smelley, wear belted, strapless fuchsia dresses provided by Bella
Bridesmaid.
For whimsy, a black tray filled with yellow decorative sand holds glass
cylinder vases with metal painted flowers in wedding colors with
messages of joy.

The bridal cake is a four-tiered cake in tinted butter cream, decorated
with fondant accents of different shaped pearl embossed flowers. Satin
ribbon surrounds each layer in shades of green that complement the
fondant icing. Handmade fondant butterflies and crystal beads form the
topper and continue in a beautiful cascade down the sides of the cake.
The groom’s cake is frosted in chocolate butter cream, accented with a
circling of hazelnuts and tower of fresh limes. Both cakes were created
by Icing Illusions.
For the reception, tables are covered with Cerise Bengaline linen by BBJ
Linen. Yellow Fuji mums and gloriosa lilies in assorted black vases are
accented with spiral patterns that are highlighted with pink jewels.
Menu cards are tucked into black folded napkins tied with hot pink sheer
patterned ribbon, accented with yellow fuchsia phalaeonopsis orchid
bloom. The featured menu is a stunning display of culinary delights that
are as pleasing to the palate as an Asian Flairthemed wedding is to the
eye.
